What no one tells you about aluminum framed outdoor furniture
Most outdoor furniture is constructed with aluminum frames. The frames are made of extruded aluminum tubes of different shapes and sizes, reinforced by internal support walls, creating a very strong and structurally robust, durable, resilient frame. Most hollow aluminum tubes undergo a process called extrusion. Extrusion is a method of forming a material, such as aluminum, by forcing the material to flow through a forming opening in a die. The formed material emerges as a long tube or other shape included with the contours of the die. Extruded aluminum is characterized by its uniformly smooth, perfect surface and can be made into very complex and precise shapes. It can be cut, welded, bent and machined for further production. Quite simply, this means that a piece of metal is forced through a machine that shapes it into a hollow, round or square shape. For designers and engineers, the possibilities are endless when designing with aluminum extrusions. Aluminum extrusions...
